Fantastic location , the room in this Victorian brownstone had an open fire, we were amazed for reception to confirm that we could have a real fire in our room as long as we purchased an eco friendly ‘log’ from the local convenience shop around the corner. we stayed five nights and had fires on 3 nights, lovely and romantic looking out over the street it was magical! the position is amazing, 50 yards away from one of our favourite bars ‘the corner bistro’ we had a great evening having messy burgers at the bar, watching baseball on TV while one of the locals was celebrating his birthday, he sent us a slice of his birthday cake which was just so nice. I can’t emphasise enough what a great position this hotel is in with its proximity to ‘The Whitney’, Chelsea market, Bleeker st, The Highline, the area is low rise and very walkable and we spent hours wandering up and down Bleeker street visiting restaurants and small clubs ( The Bitter End oldest music venue in ‘the village’ amazingly reasonable ticket and drink prices) I could go in and on, we would definitely stay at this hotel again, it is a bit eclectic and maybe not for everyone, steep stairs, it was the end of the season and the room could have done with a refresh but all in all a very reasonably priced hotel with unusual features, really nice staff who were very helpful and accommodating. we have stayed at many high end hotels in many countries but our experience here was one we will remember for a very long time, it was special, romantic, unusual and amazingly well positioned. a shout out to the barman at the tavern across the street who, amazingly for New York, bought my wife and I a round of drinks as we had had four rounds already and only popped in for one. Thanks to everyone it was well special!

The hotel is made up of two 1840 townhouses in the unspoiled and upmarket West Village. It is a short walk to the Hudson River which has a very long and beautifully landscaped riverside walk/jogging/bicycle and dog walkers broad pathway and reconceived piers for sunning and looking at the broad and beautiful river. It is also a short walk to the Whitney Museum of American Art which itself has great views from its terraces; a fine cafe and an outstanding collection of American Art. The hotel is charming. The rooms are furniture in an eclectic style; many have working fireplaces. It is not not have a front desk as such although Vincent who manages the hotel is outstandingly gracious and helpful.

My room was incredibly spacious, especially for the price. I stayed in the "Bishop" suite, which has an interesting split-level design. I had a large, attractively furnished sitting room with a fireplace, down a short set of stairs there was a kitchenette (including fridge, coffee maker, a few glasses, plates, silverware) and a small bathroom, up a set of stairs there was a sleeping loft that was just large enough for a bed and TV set. They could charge a fortunte for this much space in a great Greenwich Village location, but for some reason the room was priced below market rate.

The location was fantastic, the bus stop was right outside and subway close by. There were many shops for groceries and a wide range of produce. I had the Bishop Suite which was plenty big enough for me as a solo traveller. I had a guest one night who used the sofa bed which apparently was extremely uncomfortable and had seen better days. The apartment was very nice and homely, I felt very relaxed and safe there. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was clean enough, with adequate space for my belongings. I would definitely return, it's a great find.

The Incentra Village Hotel is close to transportation, restaurants, museums, parks, and shops. Our suite had a small kitchen so we could make tea, coffee and heat take-out food. We had a front-facing room and it was quiet. On the first night the weather was very cold and the staff provided a space heater to help warm the room. Staff tidied the room and refreshed the linens daily. Incentra Village Hotel is a good option if you like a place with some character and want more space than a typical hotel room.
